Welcome

I’m Steve Buttercase — a guitarist, songwriter and poet. My songs hopefully straddle Folk, Blues and Country but with energy and groove through bold, modern arrangements. I write songs about almost anything, and try to perform with an open, honest energy live.

Songs never stop evolving. If I dislike one thing about the recording process its that it is so permanent. I hope when you see me play a song live there is a bit of it that was only done that way that once.

On this site you’ll find some alternative recordings, upcoming live appearances and some glimpses into the processes and inspirations behind some of the songs.

About

I got my first guitar at 14 years old but I was already an accomplished player of many great tunes on the tennis racquet and cricket bat.
